So today is the day when I go back to work! I excited and nervous. I don't know why I'm so nervous other than I have new bosses to impress. I guess it's because I'm feeling rusty and I'm not stationed in my usual comfort zone. Well cheers to fresh beginnings...The world is my oyster and I have a plan!

As the Crow Flies

I have a job again. I cannot properly convey how much of a relief this is for me. I have two children and not working for two months was very stressful. Now I can relax a bit and focus on getting another job! I want two or more! Just putting it out there!
The funny thing was a couple weeks ago when things were super duper shitty in my world I had a message from the local crows. I know I sound completley nutso but natives believe in animal totems and I was feeling very conected to the crows that have this neigbourhood as thier territory. So I was walking home and this crow was sitting on a low branch of one of the trees on my block. Since that moment I felt more strongly the connection to the crows and researched thier meaning and it turns out among many other things they can be omens for good and bad. I felt that this was for good and the next week I heard that my old position was going to become available. Then came the job fair and today I got the job. As I walked home the crows were there at the corner of my block, as if they were saying see, I told you!

 I had my job interview yesterday. I was applying for the position I held before I was laid off and new owners took over. It went well. I will be getting a call back so my mind is eased and anxious simultaneously.

Cake Wars

I was excited to try making this cake and in fact did so. The problem was when I was cooling it on the counter and my dog Rusty decided to help himself to a quarter of the cake. But don't you worry, I just cut off the offending sides and will still be presenting it at the family dinner I'm hosting tonight. I'm not going to let him best me!

I'm going to admit that I'm a sci-fi/fantasy book reader. I truly enjoy travelling to different lands where there is magic afoot. I am reading a series right now that is quite enjoyable The Eldarn Sequence I am on the last of the series of three. I purchased the first one a couple of years ago and then last month I noticed the other two side by side in the used books portion of our local bookstore, score!!!

Dinner and a Movie

Tonight I'm going out with a good friend I haven't seen in a while. I don't know where we are going to eat and I don't know what we are going to see. It's an adventure! Yay!....I don't get out enough obviously!
Isn't there something fun in making plans that have the promise of the unknown. I'm the type of person who doesn't have to be rigidly scheduled to feel ok with things. I have friends and family that are and I can play by their rules but I do enjoy whims. Cheers to that!

So my crocheting has gone by the way side. I plan on rectifying that when I'm done this post. I am a week behind now and feel like a very naughty student. I am going to have to go apple picking to make it up to teacher.

Holy Crap Was I Ill.

I had the worst illness this weekend. I couldn't move except to throw up the water I was consuming. I really hate it when my body betrays me like that. Now I'm all weak and shaky; but thankfully on the mend.  I felt so sorry for my dogs who are completely bored not getting their nightly walks. They were pretty good about it though so hopefully I can make it up to them tonight.

A Month of Quotes

I think I've been doing pretty good with posting my daily quote. I admit that there were some days that I had to make up. Sue me. haha!
I definitely feel that I'm getting into a blogging routine though and that's what's important.
My crochet is coming along slowly as I am behind in watching the tutorials having gone away for Thanksgiving weekend. I will be posting my progress tomorrow as I also have to put up a pic on flicker.

Turkey Time!

Well I'm off to the cottage for a couple of days to stuff my face full of all of natures bounty. I'm a big fan of stuffing (dressing as some might call it). It will be a whirlwind of eating adventures as I cover much area filling my gullet. Le sigh.

Where's the Laundry Fairy?

Why don't we have a laundry fairy? Is it really too much to ask for that a winged creature come forth in the night and clean, dry, fold and stack all of our used clothing items? And would it be pushing it even further to suggest that this magical event happen not annually but weekly? I personally would be OK with this arrangement.
