Hoping for tomorrow

I have a job interview tomorrow. I'm nervous because it's a group interview and I've never interviewed like that before. I really hope they like me! I'm definitely qualified so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the competition is like. Fingers crossed.

I'm so excited to be going back to school....Craft school! haha I was on Pinterest and clicked on a crochet school pin which led me to a blog that's hosting FREE crochet lessons. Woot, this makes my day. I knit with medium skill and have wanted to become a crocheter but never have. That's about to change. I added her button to my sidebar (another first).

We went to the farm yesterday. It was gorgeous out; the sun was hot and the breeze was cool. A very nice combination. The dogs played ALL day.

Good Morning!
I thought I would share some of my scarf projects that I have been working on this past week.

This god awful t-shirt was purchased on a whim. I thought perhaps I could combine it with another shirt to make something interesting. But instead when I started to stretch the fabric it turned inside out and became something lovely!

Yes I just made a Jersey Shore reference, No I don't watch that god awful show. Buuuut, it is t-shirt time because I'm going down to the Sally Ann for .50 cent shirts! This makes me very excited as I have many scarfs to make!

Bargain Bags of Wool

I had to go up to the mall today. The licencing people put my name in wrong and as I was on my way up there to fix it it occurred to me that could mean a picture retake. I was very careful on Friday when  I went up to make sure my hair looked good and my makeup was fresh. This morning I threw it in a ponytail and only put foundation on to cover up the bags. So ya, I had another updated picture with me looking like a douche. oh well...
Speaking of bags though, I found some great yarn deals that I'm super excited about. grey, orange and sage green. Love.

Oh ya, and I forgot my above and beyond round up.
Last week I spray painted a bookshelf to go in my room and I made three tshirt scarves.

Going to the farm

I'm going out to our friends horse farm later today. I haven't been out there in a couple weeks and am curious to see how the peas I planted at the beginning of August are doing. It was pretty cold this morning and I'm worried that they may not make it to yield. I knew it would be a race against time when I planted them...I'm so daring, haha.
I'm not able to take pictures other than with my iphone so please excuse any of my pictures that you will see because they are not going to be the best quality in blog land, that's fo sho!

Chutney time!

It has become tradition in my family that every year when we go to the cottage at the end of August we pick yellow apples off two specific trees. Then I make Twelve Mile Apple Chutney! The house is gonna smell spicy!

Grey Day

I have a lot on the go today as it is my Dad's birthday and I'm making him a yummy dinner. I bought some cabbage rolls from this Russian vendor at the farmers market. I am currently making borscht and I finished his Banana split "cake" last night. I have a cabbage dish to make as well. So I am off to finish up for tonight...Hope your day is sunny!

Monday Monday

And so another week begins. Things I did that were above and beyond last week included turning a old ugly brass lamp into a hammered silver lamp of beauty. I just have one more coat of spray paint to apply to a very ugly bookcase I folk art painted a decade ago. What was I thinking? haha
On the list for today is making a banana split cake for my dad's birthday tomorrow and figuring out what I'm going to serve him with the cabbage rolls hmmmm...


So as I was saying yesterday my daughter and I went on a hair adventure via a sock bun.

Now first off I have to say that my immediate reaction was  how very toddlers in tiaras; but this was as soon as we took the bun out. After it was brushed it looked very nice. And we tried again last night with a slightly smaller sock and I liked the results much more. It's nice and quick too! Here is where I found the instructions Sock bun curls

I Don't Know What To Do With Myself

I have spent close to the last decade working nights on the weekends. My body is very used to staying up late and sleeping in and by Sunday night I'm pretty much a write off. I was laid off from my place of employment a couple of weeks ago and this is the second weekend I've had to do whatever I like with. Friday night I had a bonfire with my dad. Last night I tried creating curls in my Daughter N's hair with a sock bun....perhaps I can post a pic if she'll let me. Then we watched Pride and Prejudice. That movie had my stomach all twisted in knots haha! I think I'm too sensitive.

It's a New Day

This used to be my blog a couple of years ago. I was quite happy here. Then I broke up with my boyfriend and he was creeping my blog. At the time I wasn't OK with that so I deleted my account. That made me sad because it seemed as though I deleted my creativity as well. It was a hard time in my life though. My thoughts would wander back to my blog and I decided to start up a new one; it just wasn't the same. I couldn't find that spark to create or contribute. But now it think I've got it! Recently I discovered Pinterest and it is rocking my m*&^%fing socks off! Woot.

I am making a blog pledge to myself and my *potential* readers. I have a 365 day challenge for myself. It's a words of wisdom quote. Hopefully I will incorporate other things that inspire me or that I create into it as well. But I don't want to bite of more I can chew so let me put my money where my mouth is...
